Tip for 2012 cruises. Taxes on spirits like whisky, gin and the like make these drinks very expensive to buy in Turkey. The captains suggest that you buy your own supplies in duty free on the way over and use them onboard. Our captains are relaxed about this. Local beer (Efes) and local Spirits like Raki are reasonably priced in Turkey.
